Local Transportation

Newcastle International Airport is a main station for the Metro. The station is linked by a covered walkway directly into the terminal building.

The journey takes 23 minutes from Newcastle Central Station and services are provided up to every 7 minutes.
Single tickets are available all times of day for single journeys and are valid for 90 minutes from the time of purchase.

Return tickets are valid all times of the day. The price of a return ticket is reduced after 09.00am on weekdays and all days at weekends and public holidays.

The University is located within the city of Newcastle.  Most hotels are conveniently linked with the University by QuayLink, a system of yellow, electric buses, linking major employment and tourism destinations in the area. QuayLink operates frequently, with buses on two routes running up to every 10 minutes during the day, and at least every 20 minutes in the evening. Tickets are available from the bus driver.

Internet access during the conference

The auditoria of the university do not have wireless internet access. However, a computer class with sufficient capacity is at our disposal during the conference days.
