CSM - R&D Trainee Program

 

 We are looking for the most promising candidates to enter the trainee program. Being an assertive self-motivated and, internationally mobile candidate, CSM offers a platform to launch your career in a pan-European business context. Our new trainee program will give you two years of real life work experience in a multinational, multicultural environment, during which you will have an assignment of 6 months abroad and 4 weeks of structured training modules with other graduates to develop your leadership and management skills. This is a perfect opportunity to get to know the industry at various locations and meet many different European colleagues who will help you to develop your career at CSM. If you are chosen to enter the trainee program you will be working for a CSM company driven by innovation and technology. CSM wants to keep offering successful products to its markets that satisfy customer and consumer needs. Candidate profile

 

You will start off working at one of our Innovation Centers or Product Development Centers. If you have the ability and potential, you should achieve your first managerial post within 2-3 years. You are responsible for your own career and will need to be driven and committed to your own development. Education

  • Excellent degree (pref. MSc or PhD) in food technology, food chemistry or food science
  • Good/excellent results in a major field of study
  • Good/outstanding thesis and internship in the food industry, preferably in the bakery-, frozen food or food ingredients industries
  • Special activities, like studying abroad for a term

Skills and competences

Fluent in English. Semi-fluency in a second (Western-European) language like French, German, Spanish or Italian would be desirable

  • Analytical thinker; able to see through complex issues
  • A systematic way of working (project management) or one that combines creativity with a pragmatic approach
  • Good networking skills - capable of professional teamwork
  • Problem solving attitude/innovative
  • Multi-cultural awareness
  • Practical, willing to ‘hands on' mentality
  • Experienced PC user (database handling)

 

Other requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently (20%-30%)
  • Ability and willingness to relocate.
